Game Mechanics
The Third Eye is your primary tool for detecting anomalies. Press and hold Q to activate supernatural vision.
How It Works:
- Reveals hidden features and anomalous characteristics
- Shows a green meter that fills with extended use
- Overuse can trigger the Jin World secret ending
- Best used in short, strategic bursts
Warning:
The game explicitly warns that "something bad happens" if you use the Third Eye too long. Use responsibly!
As the night begins, the stall is quiet, and the initial customers seem normal enough. Your first task is to familiarize yourself with the cooking process: placing bowls, adding noodles, meatballs, tofu, vegetables, sauces, and finally packaging the order. The first customer requests a Bakso Noodles, paying Rp. 12,000, and everything goes smoothly.
Service Steps:
- Customer approaches your window
- Examine them for anomalous features
- Use Third Eye (mata batin) if suspicious
- Serve if normal, refuse if anomalous
- Earn money and tips for correct decisions
The initial phase of the game acts as a tutorial, guiding players through the steps of preparing a bowl of bakso, from placing the bowl and lid to adding noodles, meat, tofu, vegetables, and condiments, before packing it for a customer. The first customer interaction seems mundane, with a successful QRIS payment of 12,000 Rp for a single Mie Bakso. Your performance affects which ending you receive. Serving anomalies or rejecting real customers impacts your final outcome.
Before proceeding, it's crucial to consult the 'Tips' and 'Rules to FOLLOW' signs posted at your stall. These aren't just suggestions; they are vital for your survival and job security. The rules highlight critical exceptions to normal service and must be followed carefully.
Key Rules:
- A 'Granny ghost' with a baby on her shoulder must be served but not stared at - customers might give tips
- Avoid sitting down when serving to prevent being fired
- Use a 'Third Eye' (Q) to confirm anomalies (but not for too long)
- Specifically serve villagers with green babies
- Financial rules: Rp. 12,000 for Bakso Noodles and Rp. 7,000 for drinks
- Critical: If you see blood dripping from the meatball, you must sit down immediately
- Customers must pay the correct amount - violations result in anomaly hits
Warning:
A bald customer in a grey shirt may accuse your stall of copying 'Shawarma Kiosk' and deliberately pay less than required. When challenged, he angrily yells, 'You are getting fired!!!' This incident results in an 'Abnormal Shift' anomaly hit, highlighting the importance of strict adherence to pricing rules.
Pro Tip: Screenshot or memorize the rules at the start of each shift. Rule violations can end your shift immediately. The night shift at Bakso Malang is more than just a job; it's a test of wits and adherence to the unknown.
Each night shift consists of multiple phases with increasing difficulty.
Early Shift (7 PM - 10 PM)
Few anomalies, mostly normal customers. Good time to learn the rules.
Mid Shift (10 PM - 1 AM)
Anomaly frequency increases. Stay alert and use Third Eye strategically.
Late Shift (1 AM - 4 AM)
High anomaly rate. Complex entities appear. Maximum vigilance required.
Dawn (4 AM - 6 AM)
Final push to sunrise. Survive this and you've completed your shift.
Earn money by serving real customers correctly. Your earnings affect certain endings. You may receive surprising visits from generous customers, such as a customer in a white coat who, preparing to move overseas, gives you a free phone and a substantial tip, bringing your total earnings to Rp. 62,000.
Income Sources:
- Base pay: Rp. 12,000 for Bakso Noodles, Rp. 7,000 for drinks
- Tips for fast, friendly service
- Special customers offering free items (like high-end mobile phones)
- Bonuses for shift completion
- Special rewards for perfect shifts
Warning:
A female customer, veiled and cloaked, may order a Bakso Noodle and a Boxed Tea for Rp. 19,000 but insist on a lower price. She challenges your authority and demands your ID (KTP). Succumbing to her pressure and offering a discount violates the strict pricing rule and counts as another anomaly hit. While some acts of kindness might be rewarded, deviating from the strict rules incurs severe consequences.
The "I'm a Millionaire!" ending requires maximizing earnings, even if it means taking risks with anomaly detection. However, remember that strict rule-following is paramount to survival.
